Confocal laser-induced endomicroscopy(CLE),a new emerging imaging technique ,allows the capture of images of “virtual histology” of the gastrointestinal mucosal during endoscopy, and retrieve real-time visualization of the pathology of the mucosal epithelium with its cellular and subcellular structures. This article elaborates the application of CLE in IBD’s diagnosis and therapy.
