Objective: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of single-channel endoscopic purse-string suture in closing of colonic perforation. Methods: The clinical data of 22 patients with perforation caused by colonoscope examination or therapy in the First People’s Hospital of Changzhou from September 2010 to December 2017 were collected. Completion of endoscopic purse-string suture, postoperative complication and follow-up results of these patients were retrospective analyzed. Results: 21 patients were successfully treated with single-channel endoscopic purse-string suture. The suture time was 10-25min, with an average of 15.1min. Postoperative hospital stay was 4-15 d, with an average of 7.3d. Postoperative abdominal pain and fever were found in 16 and 15 cases respectively. All cases wers alleviated or restored after conservative treatment. Colonoscopy of all patients during follow-up of 3 to 12 months showed wound healing and no metal clip or nylon rope was remained. Conclusion: Single-channel endoscopic purse-string suture can effectively close the perforation in the colonoscope examination and treatment.
