Abstract:Hot snare polypectomy (HSP) and endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR) are currently standard methods of endoscopic treatment of colorectal epithelial tumors. Cold snare polypectomy (CSP) is an emerging standard for treating small (<5mm) polyps, which is also suitable for non-cancerous polyp resections with a diameter of 5-9 mm. Endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) has significant advantages in the treatment of high-grade dysplasia and early cancer, and can also be used as an alternative to endoscopic piece-meal resection (EPMR) for overall resection of large flat or non-pedunculated lesions. At present, the latest technique for endoscopic treatment of colorectal tumors is endoscopic full-thickness resection (EFTR), which can effectively remove small lesions with positive non-lifting signs, such as recurrent lesions with local cicatrization after endoscopic resection.
