The burden of digestive diseases is heavy in China, especially for gastrointestinal cancer. County hospitals play a connecting role in the diagnosis and treatment of digestive system diseases and the prevention and treatment of gastrointestinal cancer. In order to promote the homogeneous and standardized construction of gastroenterology department, improve the diagnostic and therapeutic ability of digestive diseases and digestive endoscopy, and assist the high-quality development of county hospitals, experts were invited in this field to formulate this guideline. This guideline mainly includes the criteria of medical service ability, personnel allocation, outpatient and ward construction, digestive endoscopy center construction, and quality management, providing guidance and basis for the standardized construction, operation and management of department of gastroenterology in county hospitals.
